Office solution supplier Midshire® has been named Outstanding Large Business of the Year at the Solihull Annual Dinner and Awards 2017.

The sold out inaugural evening was hosted by the Solihull Chamber of Commerce at the Hilton Metropole Birmingham Hotel on 19th October.

Danny Walden, Midshire’s Regional Sales Manager says: “As an active organisation within the Solihull community I can speak for everyone at Midshire when I say we are thrilled.

“Although Midshire has been recognised as a large enterprise, we will continue to operate with a local mentality, support local businesses, and offer an entirely personal service.”

Solihull Chamber Director, Joan Smith adds: “I have worked with Danny and Midshire for many years now, they are so deserving, their work and investment within the community is very encouraging.”

A defining criterion for winning the award, Midshire has led many charitable projects over the past year, including a Friends of North Solihull Christmas hamper campaign for the elderly, and large machine donations to Solihull Council and Troop Aid.

Managing Director at Midshire, Phil Powell says: “We have always been passionate about working within the Solihull and wider Birmingham communities. We run Apprenticeship schemes and work experience placements year-round to give young people in the area the best start in their professional careers.”

With Midshire supporting Balsall Common Primary School, Age UK Solihull, and a pupil at Arden School, small and large-scale sponsorship activity has also contributed to the win.

As well as Midshire’s overall business performance, growth, and impact in the area, its managed print service solutions have reduced Solihull Council’s education spend in excess of £200,000. 89% of the district’s schools have now increased efficiency, improved their equipment, and secured eco-status in being supplied by Midshire.

Phil continues: “Looking to the future, we have just been acquired by global manufacturer Sharp. Although still in its infancy, I am extremely excited about what this strategic relationship will bring to our customers.”

Midshire was also named Best Office Technology Supplier at the UK Corporate Excellence Awards, won two Talk of Manchester Awards, and a Megabuyte award for IT in 2016.
