National managed print service provider Midshire is thrilled to announce that Sharp Europe’s MX-B455W/MX-B355W A4 digital multifunction black and white photocopier has won the coveted 2019 iF Design Award.

Founded in 1949, the iF International Forum Design shaped the iF Design Awards in 1953 to shed light on the brilliance of German design. Now the institute serves as an important figure in bridging the gap between design and industry.

Awarded in seven distinct categories – Product, Packaging, Communication, Interior Architecture, Professional Concept, Service Design, and UX & Architecture, the historic winners list is comprised of some of the world’s most iconic brands, including: Ferrari, Philips, and Apple.

Acting as a seal of trust for users, consumers, and businesses, the exciting announcement represents phenomenal design and service, and certifies the next-generation product as one of the most innovative, with unparalleled reliability, and of utmost quality.

The MX-B455W/MX-B355W is a black and white photocopier, with a difference. Delivering everything expected from a Sharp multifunction printer, the new device utilises built-in OCR capability to convert files into editable Microsoft Office files, making digitising, storing, and sharing essential information easier than ever.

Managing Director at Midshire, Julian Stafford said:“Sharp are really coming through with some next generation products, they’re leading the way and I’m so proud that Midshire are a part of it. This award is a real testament to what Sharp can offer.”

Meticulously designed with space-efficiency in mind, the multifunction black and white photocopier sits comfortably on or next to a desk, and boasts one of the fastest scanning speeds in the industry; duplex 110 images per minute, increasing productivity.

After a pain-staking three-day jury session in Hamburg, an international panel of 67 design experts disputed, debated, and tested 6,375 entries from 52 nations, selecting 1,190 lucky winners this year.

All 2019 winners can look forward to collectively celebrating their achievements at the glitzy iF Design Awards evening at the BMW Welt in Munich on March 15th, which expects to host some 2000 guests.

Winning products will be displayed from March 16thto July 14ththis year at the iF Design Exhibition in Hamburg, Germany, and can be viewed on the iF World Design Guide.
