Rugby World Cup update from Emyr Lewis
With the Rugby World Cup happening right now, what better time to get insight into the competition from someone who knows more than most. Emyr Lewis, ex Wales player, capped 41 times in the 1990s and now Midshire Cymru Account Manager takes us through the competition so far, with a focus on the Welsh team.
How much have injuries affected the Welsh team?
Obviously they have affected them. Fortunately we have managed to win every game but we cannot afford any more injuries especially in the backs as we are down to the bare bones already.
Do you think Wales will make it out of the group stages?
Yes. Already have due to Australia beating England.
Who do you think is the player of the tournament so far and why?
There are so many players that have played well but David Pocock from Australia has been superb.
Which team is your favourite to win, and why?
After this weekend’s performance you would have to put Australia as the top team. Brilliant display against a very good English side.
What were your emotions after the England V Wales match?
I was nervous during the whole game. It could have gone either way right up until the final whistle. There was a sense of relief and then jubilation.
What is your score predication for the Wales V Australia match?
Could be a close one. Australia to win by 6 points.
Midshire will soon be launching a competition for schools across the country in conjunction with Emyr and Toshiba, one of the official World Cup sponsors, and Midshire’s newest technology partner. Schools will have the chance to win a rugby training session with Emyr and Toshiba sponsored rugby kit. Further details will be released as the World Cup competition goes on.
