Midshire Nominated for two Stockport Business Awards
Leading office technology provider, Midshire is delighted to announce its nominations in two categories at this year’s Stockport Business Awards.
Managing Director, Julian Stafford has been nominated as ‘Business Person of the Year’, whilst Group Marketing Manager, Adrienne Topping has been nominated as ‘Young Business Person of the Year’ for 2015.
Julian Stafford setup Midshire Business Systems Northern back in 1997 with just three staff and today employs over 65 employees across three office locations: Stockport, Sheffield and Pontyclun.
As well as driving Midshire’s success, Julian works hard to support the local community through sponsorship, charitable fundraising and technology support.
Commenting on the awards, Julian Stafford, Managing Director said: “I’m delighted that Midshire has been shortlisted in two categories for this year’s Stockport Business Awards and it’s humbling to be personally shortlisted for the Business Person of the Year Award.
The business has grown rapidly over the past few years through sheer hard work, taking every opportunity that comes our way and ensuring excellent service is guaranteed to every single customer, so it’s wonderful to receive recognition for our achievements.
I wish Adrienne all the best for her nomination, as the incredible growth of Midshire over the past few years is testament to Adrienne’s drive, vision and outstanding ability. She’s also a lovely girl who’s an absolute pleasure to work with.”
Adrienne joined the business in a newly created role, as Marketing Manager in 2012. In that time she has completely transformed the Midshire Group’s brand, both online and offline. This has had a significant impact on business growth, including staff levels, turnover and the opening of two new regional offices.
A trained graphic designer, Adrienne led an in-house, company rebrand in 2014, which has cemented Midshire’s identity as an industry leading, full-service office technology provider.
Adrienne’s success in achieving national press and PR for the organisation, including coverage of charity events, sponsorship and community work, has raised the profile of the organisation to a once unimagined level.
Adrienne Topping, Group Marketing Manager comments:
“It’s lovely to be recognised for an award, it’s an even bigger honour to be nominated alongside our MD Julian. Working at Midshire has given me the opportunity to grow and develop, not just as a marketer, but also as an individual. It’s a fantastic organisation to work for and I’m certain Midshire will continue to do great things in Stockport and further afield.
Good luck to everyone who’s received a nomination and we can all look forward to a fantastic evening.”
Both Julian and Adrienne are nominated alongside very strong competition, and this year has again seen record numbers of entries across all categories.
Chris Appleyard from Pioneer Digital Solutions and Carl Hampson from Allied Bakeries are nominated in the Business Person of the Year category, whilst Joe Barratt from The Teenage Market and Muhammad Jamil from Parcel Plus are nominated in the Young Business Person of the Year Award.
No stranger to award success, Midshire Sales Manager Nick Rose was chosen as ‘Young Business Person of the Year’ 2014. Nick was recognised for his business credentials and his charity work, raising over £45,000 for Francis House Children’s Hospice.
Organiser and main sponsor Clarke Nicklin Chartered Accountants set up the Awards in 2012 to celebrate the breadth and depth of talent in the Stockport region and the awards continue to grow year on year.
The Stockport Business Awards now have 12 categories, covering individual success, business success, developing young people, innovation and trade achievements.
A change in venue this year sees the annual awards ceremony move to Stockport Town Hall in order to accommodate a greater number of attendees. The ceremony will take place on 15th October and winners will be announced on the night.
