Midshire’s gold sponsorship of Burton Sounds

Midshire is pleased to announce its gold sponsorship of local rugby 7s team- Burton Sounds. The team, based in Burton on Trent was formed in 2014, made up of players from Burton RFC 1sts and 2nds, as well as players from surrounding clubs.
The team is now in its second season and hopes to build on last year’s success. Last summer the team competed in tournaments locally and nationally including Sevens and the City at Allianz Park. The event attracted some of the best 7s teams, with both international and club sides competing. Burton Sounds reached the quarterfinals of the 3rd tier competition, competing against teams from across the UK.
Rugby Sevens is a fast growing sport, largely similar to the 15 player game. However, matches are much shorter in length. Each half is just seven minutes long. This makes it possible for a whole tournament to be played in just a day.
As a growing sport it has now been included in the Summer Olympics, and will make its debut at the 2016 Rio Games.
Dewi Williams Performance Nutritionist & Burton Sounds Committee Member, and Bill Peach, Director of Rugby have recruited and strengthened the 7s squad in preparation for the busy season ahead. Upcoming fixtures include:

Midshire was delighted to have been approached to become a sponsor of the Burton Sounds team. Currently, Midshire sponsors a number of local sports teams including: Belvedere under 9s football team based in Burton, as well as Staffordshire Power Wheelchair, also based in Burton.
As gold sponsor Midshire will become the main kit sponsor and our logo will appear on the front of the shirt.
Midshire Regional Sales Manager Noel Barnes has been instrumental in helping to support these local sports teams. He comments,
