Midshire Hosts its Bredbury Neighbours
On Wednesday 7th March, local managed print service provider Midshire® hosted its Industrial Park neighbours for Stockport Council’s quarterly Bredbury Area Business Group meeting.
There were 17 representatives from 14 local businesses that attended the gathering in a bid to bring the community together, voice their concerns to the Council, and gain updates about developments in the Stockport area.
Midshire’s Managing Director, Julian Stafford presented at the meeting: “Since I opened Midshire Northern back in 1997, the developments I’ve seen in the community have been astounding. The continued investment by the council is very encouraging, and initiatives like the Area Business Group should keep local organisations feeling engaged in what’s happening.”
Businesses that attended the Midshire-hosted meeting included: Stockport Council, Manchester Business Growth Hub, HF Electrical Ltd, Antala, Country Gates and Barriers, Stanley Security, Stockport Truck Centre, Pace Rehab, Progressive 3PL, Pure Clean Waste Solutions Ltd, Bonut Engineering and Herd Mundy Richardson Ltd.
Julian used the opportunity to update attendees about Sharp Electronics Europe’s strategic acquisition of Midshire in July 2017.
The merge should help Sharp provide a better service to customers by increasing its fleet of engineers, providing an IT offering, and expanding its digital marketing expertise.
Georgia Buckley, from the Growth Team at Stockport Council says: “I’d like to take the time to thank Midshire unreservedly for hosting the meeting, and for their work in Stockport overall. It’s businesses that keep the town alive, and their support is necessary for our developments to continue.”
Having worked with women’s organisations Smart Works, swim team Stockport Metro, and the Seashell Trust, a charity for children with sensory impairment, Midshire is committed to the ongoing support of charitable projects and local organisations.
Georgia continues: “The Bredbury Area Business Group is a great way for local organisations to get together and voice their concerns in a collective, constructive way. For instance, it was noted on Wednesday that the morning commute is traffic-laden, which will now be fed back to the relevant team to see what can be done.”
Helen Walters from the Council also kept attendees up-to-date about ongoing projects in Stockport, such as Aurora Business Park, which has seen the construction of 10 new industrial units to meet growing demand for industrial accommodation within the borough.
