Midshire helps bag over £980 for Francis House
On Saturday 3rd October, Francis House held a charity bag pack at Sainsburys in Altrincham.
Marketing Manager Adrienne and Marketing Assistant Laura were invited to join the charity’s regular fundraisers for the day and spent 5 hours at the store helping shoppers put their food into bags in exchange for a small donation.
The volunteers raised an impressive total of £981.99 for the charity.
Fundraising Officer at Francis House, Kate Puc commented “This is an incredible amount of money to raise for just a few hours work. As always, thank you to all the volunteers for giving your time – it is greatly appreciated.”
Francis House cares for over 370 sick children, teenagers and young adults with a short life expectancy. It provides support, friendship and short breaks of respite care for the whole family. The hospice needs over £3.6 million in charitable donations each year to continue to provide and expand its services.
Midshire has been supporting Francis House for a number of years, with the Midshire F72 event and numerous running events and is continuing to support the charity over the next 12 months, with the London Marathon and Bush Run ultra-marathon attempt.
Group Marketing Manager Adrienne Topping comments: “We have been involved with Francis House now for a number of years and we are always looking for ways we can get involved and help with fundraising and assisting to promote the charity and the great work they do. From organising our own events to joining in organised events, such as the Festival of Trees and the charity bag packs, it just goes to show a few hours of your time can be really beneficial and important for charities like Francis House who rely on donations to survive.”
There is an ‘Open Day’ at Francis House on Saturday 7th November. The Hospice will be available for viewing from 10.00 am to 4.00 pm where you can see for yourselves just how much donations such as this help Francis House. No children will be in residence on this day. Everyone is welcome.
