Midshire donates a Sharp photocopier to TroopAid
Senior Account Manager Carl Meah has donated a Sharp MX2301 to TroopAid; a Midlands based charity that dispatches clothes and other essentials to service men and women that are injured during combat.
The charity is close to Carl’s heart as they helped support the family of one of his close friends who died while fighting in Afghanistan a number of years ago.
Carl commented: “I recently revisited TroopAid to assess their print requirements. Having spent an hour with Pam, their secretary, I learnt there was so much more to TroopAid that I was aware of. The work these guys do is truly remarkable, and it is a privilege to be able to support their printing requirements”.
The objective of TroopAid is to supply the ‘basic essentials’ when service casualties return from serving their country overseas. Items in the GRAB BAG include a t-shirt and shorts, washing and shaving kit, towel, face flannel, tooth paste, tooth brush, shower mules, socks, underwear, pen and paper. The bags are currently sent to UK Military Hospitals in Afghanistan, the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Birmingham and the Ministry of Defence Hospital Units within the UK.
TroopAid, which was established in 2006 by three ex servicemen, operating entirely through volunteers and donations from schools, the local business community and organisations such as Rotary International, Lions International and Masonic Lodges.
Pam Sutton, secretary of TroopAid commented: “A huge thank you for donating the photocopier to our charity. This is a huge benefit to us and we are extremely grateful for your generosity”.
Midshire supports many charities throughout the UK including Sky Blues in the Community, Francis House Children’s Hospice, Red Boots, Children in Need and Macmillan.
