Midshire Celebrates Health and Safety Success
Technology sales and service provider, Midshire has achieved a silver award in the Health and Safety Awards 2017, run by the Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents (RoSPA).
Now in its 61st year, the awards celebrate the health and safety performance of businesses and organisations of all types from across the UK and overseas. With a particular focus on leadership and workforce involvement, the awards mark achievement at: merit, bronze, silver and gold levels.
A member of RoSPA, Midshire is committed to ensuring the continued health and safety of all its employees. The company has excellent health and safety management systems in place, and as a result has minimal work-related accidents or ill health.
Darren Horton, Midshire’s Compliance Manager said “The Silver award is a reflection of the commitment all Midshire employees make to ensure our workplace is as safe as possible. The safety of our workforce is paramount to our operations, and we have worked really hard to ensure high standards are met in the workplace”.
The company involves all members of staff in its health and safety activities. Health and Safety Induction training is carried out for new starters and there is annual training for all staff. Midshire also introduced a Health and Safety Committee a few years ago, that gives all employees the freedom and confidence to air any concerns with regards to workplace safety.
RoSPA’s Head of awards and events, Julia Small comments: “The RoSPA Awards are the most prestigious in the world for occupational health and safety. Winning a RoSPA Award demonstrates an organisation’s commitment to maintaining an excellent health and safety record, and achieving the standard required is no mean feat.”
The award was achieved during a special year for the family-safety charity RoSPA as it celebrates its centenary. For more information about the RoSPA Awards, please visit their website.
