HP PageWide print technology set to change the face of the retail sector
Office technology sales and service provider Midshire, will be showcasing the very latest print solution to reach UK markets, at the 100% Optical Trade Show, from the 4th to the 6th February 2017.
Reinventing the way in which we print, the HP PageWide desktop printer uses a hybrid print technology, providing fast, high-quality, low-cost printing by moving only the paper, under a ‘page-wide’ stationary print-head. HP PageWide machines print across an entire page in a single pass, with 42,240 tiny nozzles ejecting ink precisely on the right location on a moving sheet of paper. Because the paper is moving, rather than the print head, these printers are incredibly accurate and reliable.
Set to be a game-changer for the retail sector, these machines boast the fastest print speeds in their class, but its not only speed which sets it apart. The other main factor to consider is cost. Many companies are unaware of their printing costs, yet it is estimated that printing can cost as much as 15% of a business’ annual outgoings! These printers deliver top speeds but actually use less energy, and have lower overall print costs, enabling savings of up to 50% of total printing costs.
Small but mighty, desktop printers are ideal for small teams and work groups, who need constant access to a printer. A popular choice with both independent and multi-site optician’s, desktop printers enhance the utilisation of space in your practice, as they are compact, sitting comfortably on a desk so increasing the available floor space.
Midshire Senior Account Manager, Steve Morgan comments on this new technology: “This revolutionary device is really changing the way businesses are printing. We know a lot of Opticians are trying to move towards a paper-less environment, with more and more services moving to the cloud. But with the affordability and speed of this new technology from HP, it means these printers are quick, efficient and cost of colour is the lowest we’ve seen for years.”
A leading device in its class, the HP PageWide Enterprise Colour MFP 586 Series was awarded ‘Outstanding Colour MFP for Small to Mid-Size Workgroups – Summer 2016 Pick Award’ and ‘HP 2016 Line of the Year’ backing up claims of its superiority as a industry-leading device.
Reliability is another one of the major advantages offered by the PageWide range. Research conducted by Buyers Laboratory Inc. (BLI) showed that the HP PageWide 586 Series printed 200,000 pages without failure. Meaning you can be confident that your lengthy print runs will go without disruption.
Tony Maceri, BLI Senior Test Technician comments on the capabilities of the PageWide printers: “One of the many impressive aspects of the HP PageWide Enterprise Colour MFP 586 Series is its scan functionality. Its scan preview function is one of the best we’ve seen to date, letting users view each page and add, move, rotate and delete pages.”
