Hadrian’s Walk: Meet Nick
PROFILE QUESTIONS:
Name: Nick Rose
Age: 27
Job Title: Sales Manager
Where do you live? Stockport
Time at Midshire? Approaching 8 full years
Who is your favourite co-worker and why?
Adie ‘TheLady’ Topping – despite being a Blue, she’s a good egg. Great at computing too.
THE CHALLENGE:
Why have you decided to take on the Hadrian’s Wall walk?
I do love a good challenge. It’s also a great opportunity to spend time with colleagues away from the business. Hopefully we’ll raise a boat load for charity, and have a good laugh during the process.
What walking experience do you have, if any?
I’ve conquered Mount Snowdon and Kinder Scout (twice in a day). I’ve also been dragged around the Trafford Centre more times than I care to remember.
What are you looking forward to the most about the challenge?
The sense of camaraderie, and the sense of achievement at the end of the challenge. Nothing beats that sense of pride having completed what you set out to do.
What are you looking forward to least about the challenge?
Easy – sleeping in hostels. My bed is my kingdom, I’m not looking forward to leaving it behind for a full week.
How physically fit would you rate yourself on a scale of 1-10?
Having not longer since run the Manchester Marathon I’d have to give myself a solid 8. That would’ve been a 9 if it weren’t for my recent trip to Portugal.
What is your personal fundraising target?
I’ll do my bit with the fundraising, I’ve raised a fair sum in the last 12 months, and am now a little bit worries that people are starting to hide from me.
QUICK FIRE ROUND:
What are the 3 things you are taking that you couldn’t leave at home?
1) iPhone
2) Hair wax
3) Peanut butter
Favourite chocolate bar?
Reese’s NutRageous
If you could have a superpower what would it be?
I’d have to say the ability to pull faces like Phil Jones, that’d be a great party piece.
Which celebrity would play you in a movie about your life?
I’d like to say Jake Gyllenhaal. Anybody but Danny Dyer would be fine by me.
