Manchester Festival of Christmas Trees

Posted on

Midshire Business Systems are pleased to announce we are participating in the 7th annual Manchester Festival of Christmas Trees, held by Francis House.

The ‘Festival of Trees’ is held at the Lowry Outlet, Salford Quays, with over 40 sponsored Christmas trees on display during the lead-up to Christmas, prior to an auction where the trees are bid for to raise money for Francis House and the children who stay there. The trees are decorated by local and national businesses including the Midland Hotel, Chapelle Jewellers, Deloitte LLP, John Lewis, Coronation Street and Virgin Media.

The pop-up shop, provided free of charge every year by the Lowery Outlet, raised over £25,000 last year, with trees decorated with signed baubles from the Manchester United team, a L’Oreal tree of perfumed goods and even a Tinker Bell tree which comedian Jason Manford bought for his twin daughters.

Midshire have decided to create the ultimate ‘Midshire’ tree with origami decorations made out of paper, printed in Cyan, Magenta, Yellow and Black symbolizing the print industry, accompanied by USB sticks and pens from our main suppliers – Ricoh, Sharp, Riso and Lexmark. There will also be iPhone 4 and 5 chargers and some other gadgety treats from the I.T. department. Finally, we are going to finish the tree off with baubles printed with photos of our “Midshire Hunks” (see ___ news story for more information).

Midshire have been supporting Francis House, a local charity, for several years now, and we are looking forward to kicking off the build up to Christmas by participating in the Festival of Trees.  The Didsbury based hospice works to help children and young adults with life threatening illnesses, and strives to provide the necessary support and short-term rest for their families.

As well as the beautifully decorated trees, there is a raffle, promotional items and lots of Christmassy things to buy, with all the money from these also going to Francis House. The trees are on display from the 3rd November till the 11th December, so why not pop down and show your support?
