Midshire’s coffee morning raises over £250 for Macmillan

Posted on

Friday 27th September, Midshire took part in the Worlds Biggest Coffee Morning, to help raise money for Macmillan Cancer Support.

Marketing Manager Adrienne Topping organized the event, asking all the members of staff to “bring a cake or an empty belly and spare change to help raise money for charity”.

Macmillan sent us a pack of goodies such as tablecloths, a game of ‘guess how many coffee beans are in the jar’ and some posters. We also made some bunting, which definitely brightened up the boardroom!

We initially planned to raise the money internally, however realized that it was a great opportunity to see some customers and local business, so we sent emails out to contacts who we have relations with in Stockport.

Almost every member of staff bought a cake in, be it homemade or shop bought, and the boardroom was full to the brim with cupcakes, chocolate cakes, muffins and doughnuts. One person brought in Jaffa Cakes, which led to a debate as to whether they are cakes or biscuits!

We were so overwhelmed with cake, that Sales Manager Nick Rose took the initiative to take a plate to all the offices in Bredbury Court, in return for a donation.

We had a fantastic morning, eating cake and drinking coffee, and raised £258 for charity, which made the day even more enjoyable.

We’re looking forward to next years coffee morning, and hope to raise even more money for the fantastic charity!
