#BusinessOfTheWeek: Age UK Warwickshire

This week our Business Of The Week is Age UK Warwickshire. Age UK Warwickshire is a branch of the national charity Age UK, who primarily specialise in supporting older people to love later life.
Age UK Warwickshire provide helpful advice, guidance and support to allow later life to be fun and enjoyable. This includes supporting older people to live independently for as long as they wish. A team of staff and volunteers serve the Warwickshire community in a number of ways. They provide ‘handy people’ for small repairs, carer short breaks to give carers a break, and lifestyle help to assist with independent living.
Care and home repair can allow older people to stay in their homes even when issues arise. Age UK can help by visiting a property and discussing an individual’s needs. They provide advice and can even obtain quotes from reliable tradesmen. Furthermore, the work can be overseen until completed. Age UK will obtain a specific written quote so there is no doubt that work will be carried out and what is expected.
A further service Age UK Warwickshire can provide is information and advice. Anyone over the age of 50 can benefit from free, confidential and impartial advice in a range of areas, such as: age discrimination, welfare benefits and housing assistance.
Age UK like many other charities depend heavily on donations and as such, have 450 charity shops throughout the UK. Donations are welcomed. There are 8 within the Warwickshire region.
This weekend on Sunday 5th October, Age UK Warwickshire is holding a Family Fun Walk in the grounds of Warwick Castle. The 3K walk is open to all, with entry fees priced at £6 per person, £3 for children and under 12s go FREE. Raise £25 sponsorship to get into Warwick Castle after the walk for free.
The walk starts at 10am prompt!!
Midshire has worked with Age UK Warwickshire for 15 years, providing them with the full office solution, including: photocopiers, telephone systems and broadband. Midshire is also sponsoring the upcoming Family Fun Walk. The banner above is being used to promote the event.
