Manchester Thunder to Play Semi-Final at Manchester Arena
Reigning netball superleague champions Manchester Thunder have just confirmed that their semi-final match will be played at the 21,000 capacity Manchester Arena.
The match will take place on Saturday 18th April, with the first centre pass at 6:10pm. The match opponent will be announced shortly.
Manchester Thunder are currently unbeaten this season in the netball superleague and are hoping to emulate last year’s success when they were crowned superleague champions.
Debbie Hallas, Manchester Thunder director said, ‘This is huge for Manchester Thunder and women’s sport, not just in the city but the whole country. We want it to be as big if not bigger than Netball London Live and it is the perfect opportunity to get people interested in our sport. We have been working hard with Manchester City Council and the Arena to make sure this event is a success. We would like to thank them for helping us host what we hope will be a special sporting event.’
Tickets are now on sale for the match through the Manchester Thunder website. There are also tickets available for their last home match of the season against Team Northumbria.
Midshire is the headline sponsor of Manchester Thunder and has supported the team for over 10 years.
Julian Stafford, Midshire Managing Director commented,
‘We’ve sponsored Thunder for a good number of years and I’m delighted to see how well they are playing and their success. Securing Manchester Arena as a venue will only help promote the sport in our region.’
