One year on from Midshire F72 football World Record

It’s exactly one year on since 36 brave players took on the World Record breaking 72 hour long football match. The Midshire F72 event was a huge success and ultimately raised £45,195.44 for Francis House Children’s Hospice.
Midshire Sales Manager, Nick Rose, organised the event and captained the winning team. The match lasted an equivalent of 48 matches back to back, with the score finishing at 603-426.

The football match was followed up with an equally successful Gala Dinner, where guest speakers Neil ‘Razor’ Ruddock and Andy Powell provided the entertainment. Sponsored by Midshire and Ricoh, the Gala Dinner rose in excess of £19,000.
All money raised was donated to the Francis House Children’s Hospice, based in Didsbury. The hospice helps children and young adults with life threatening illnesses, and also looks to provide the necessary support and short-term rest for families.

The event was a major achievement for all involved, and featured in the national press and local press as well as the BBC Newsround website.
To commemorate the event Midshire has produced two picture canvases which will be displayed in the reception area of the Stockport office.
