Academy Awards Midshire Contract

Midshire education has signed up its first academy.
Eaton Bank School, Congleton, which became an academy in September of last year, joins a growing number of schools choosing Midshire to provide business systems support.
The Stockport-based business systems company, which has developed an offering specifically for schools and further education bodies nationally, won the contract to replace outdated and inefficient equipment.
The company’s education packages provide copiers, scanners, printers, IT support and hardware, including classroom-tough iPads and the iPad’s big brother the BigPad to replace chalkboards with intelligent and interactive technology.
Midshire is delighted to welcome Eaton Bank Academy as a customer as it continues to build its reputation as a dynamic and progressive school, which serves around half of the town of Congleton and surrounding areas.
The 850 pupil-academy, previously known as Eaton Bank School, is celebrating after it heard it had been awarded government funding to build two new science labs. Better still the school, which bears the motto ‘believe in success’, has just launched its £3m bid to become a centre of sporting excellence, so the upgrade to better, faster and more efficient machines is timely.
Says the school bursar, George Hayes: “Midshire came in when we were nearing the end of our contract with another supplier. Because of pressures on resource we had extended our contract again and again and were coping with out-dated equipment. Midshire has provided us with copiers that also provide a print management service, monitoring our use, measuring the impact and checking costs.”
Julian Stafford, Midshire’s MD, said: “It’s great to be working with such an enlightened school. We have been keen to work with one of the really good and well regarded academies and will do everything to ensure the technology delivers for them.”
Bursar George Hayes, 21, who is also Congleton’s mayor, added: “As a high achieving school, we consistently exceed national averages for results at all Key Stages. We appreciate the need to continuously improve, by maximising the potential of all who learn at the school, and we need technology that can keep step while keeping costs in check. Midshire gave us exactly what we were looking for.”
