Pop Goes the Fundraising
Local managed print service provider Midshire® is set to generate heaps of corny cash flow for Stockport-based NK Theatre Arts by donating a brand-new popcorn machine.
Just in time for their 30th anniversary year, the sweet ‘n’ salty snacks will be a tasty treat for the whole family, and bring additional revenue to support the charity’s self-funded theatre productions, and classic cinema experiences coming this year.
The machine chosen by Midshire, the Sephra Popcorn Maker is capable of producing 8oz of the delicious delight every three minutes; paired with its compact design, it is perfect for the theatres light commercial needs.
Group Marketing Manager at Midshire, Adrienne Topping says: “As a registered charity NK is almost entirely run by volunteers. They dedicate their time and expertise to keeping the arts alive in the Greater Stockport area, so we jump at any opportunity to help them raise money.”
The popping proceeds will help theatre volunteers fund sound and lighting equipment, source unique props and set pieces, buy teaching materials for workshops, and pay towards the upkeep of the theatre space.
Business Development Trustee Jackie Dootson says: “Midshire have sponsored our theatre for three years now, their contributions and ideas have always been very imaginative and inspiring, and much more than just financial.”
To support popcorn sales, Midshire’s marketing team has designed special edition, anniversary popcorn cups as well as a special anniversary calendar for the theatre.
Jackie concludes: “Every little really does help. Small initiatives like this support our charity as we look to offering great entertainment for everyone. They make our productions even bigger and even better for the hundreds of children and young people we work with throughout the year.”
The theatre has big plans this 30th anniversary year, with shows including: The Disney Show, The Fully Monty, Magic at the Musicals, A Murder Mystery, Quadrophenia, Rock N Horror Halloween Show, Teechers, and Sleeping Beauty: The Rock and Roll Years.
