Managed Print Solutions for Accountancy Firm
Business advisors and chartered accountants, Harold Sharp, count on Midshire® to help them make the move to Managed Print Solutions (MPS); bringing the company up-to-date with the latest photocopying, printing and scanning technology.
Documented in a new case study video for Midshire, the film explores in detail the advantages a managed print solution can bring to any business, including: brand new devices, automated toner monitoring and dispatch, as well as planned preventative maintenance to ensure maximum uptime for the company.
Based in Sale, Manchester, Harold Sharp offers a wide range of traditional accountancy services for businesses and individuals, as well as the latest online, digital
services. The company provides popular online accountancy software to clients, such as: Xero and Iris, this is then backed up by qualified accountancy support by telephone or in person.
With HMRC having recently announced plans to move to new digital accounts, businesses are going to have to look to report to HMRC in a digital format, making the firm’s technology a vital part of this process.
The new MPS service provided by Midshire, has allowed the firm to reap significant benefits across the business and pass savings onto its clients.
Stuart Carruthers, Midshire Technology Sales Manager said: “Harold Sharp had spent a number of years managing their own managed print solution, which proved time consuming, un-reliable and costly.
“Our solution was to consolidate devices across the entire business, so that all replacement parts and toners were consistent. Using our OneStop software, we are able to monitor the machines, automatically take meter readings and dispatch toner, which takes away a huge headache for the customer.”
A small black and white Lexmark M1145 laser printer was chosen as the ideal device, because of its speed, value and incredibly small footprint. A Lexmark CS 748de multifunctional colour printer was also selected to support the firm’s marketing department’s printing needs. Harold Sharp has over 31 devices in total.
One of the advantages of working with Midshire was the ability for Harold Sharp to trial the chosen printer, using the companies ‘Try Before You Buy’ service.
Andy Brewood, IT Manager for Harold Sharp comments: “The main challenges of my role are keeping up with the various technologies. We print out quite a lot of documents to send to clients, sets of accounts, letters, so we needed quite a robust product. While we were in the process of looking at a new print service, Stuart was very happy for us to borrow one of Midshire’s Lexmark printers.”
Midshire’s MPS solution for Harold Sharp is totally scalable, meaning that their service needs can be met, irrespective of growth. This is largely because of Midshire’s use of fully trained local engineers that have a strict four-hour response time for call outs.
Partner at Harold Sharp Chris Wrighton explains why Midshire was the preferred choice for an MPS partner: “Once we decided to go with them they came down, they made sure that everybody’s requirements were met. We have the managed print solutions and we’ve found so far that everything works fantastic.
“What we now have are people managing the whole function for us, what we don’t have to worry about are printers going offline, engineers will come out, maintain the printers, even if they’re working perfectly well they still come out on planned maintenance visits.
“One of the key things that we were looking for in our outsourcing partner was actually just somebody that we could rely on, and I think in Midshire we’ve found that partner, the one that we can trust.”
