Midshire takes schools on a journey of innovative technology

On Tuesday 28^th June, office technology sales and service provider Midshire welcomed local schools into its offices at West Bromwich for a special education open day.

Taking visitors on a journey of discovery through 10 themed zones, head teachers, business development managers and IT managers were invited to enjoy a mini-exhibition of interactive and engaging product demos, with a few special treats along the way.

Each zone was supported by one of Midshire’s technology partners that include: Ricoh, Sharp, HP, Toshiba, RISO and Samsung. Demonstrating the very latest and most innovative solutions, Midshire showcased: 3D Printing, SIMs integration, a removable toner device, interactive whiteboards, large format printing, super-fast & low cost printing and broadband security filters.

The business is renowned in the education sector for print and photocopying solutions. Yet after recent conversations with several schools it became apparent that its IT and telecommunication offerings were less widely known about and so the “Education Open Day” was born.

Over 30 people attended the day and each visitor was entered into a prize draw to win some fantastic technology prizes. Up for grabs was a Toshiba Laptop, a Ricoh Theta 360 Camera, a Genee World Android Tablet, a Sharp Hi-Fi System, a HP Envy printer and a Samsung Virtual Reality Headset. All visitors received a goodie bag full of treats, including a Ricoh bluetooth mini-speaker and a Toshiba power-bank charger.

Zunaid Sundi from EDIT Ltd (a supplier of ICT services to schools) came to the open day with colleagues and commented: “We found the open day really very interesting! And I have to say much better than BETT! The innovation and new technology was amazing! Really good stuff!”

The range of demonstrations on show highlighted the diverse portfolio of products, solutions and services available from Midshire.

Eva Evans from Bentley Heath Primary School explains: “Although the MFP devices were great to see side by side, it was even more interesting to see 3D printing, the Genee stand and network solutions and we will be exploring these areas further”.

With such fantastic feedback, Midshire are planning further events at it’s other regional offices and hopes to build on this success, ensuring that next year’s event in West Brom will be even bigger and better!
