The Future is 5G!
What is 5G?
If you live in one of the more populated areas of the UK, the chances are you have access to a 3G or 4G network – at least most of the time!
Since the first 1G mobile appeared in 1982, approximately every 10 years or so there has been a mobile connectivity revolution.
The Future is 5G!
The next generation of mobile network has a long way to go before it’s a reality, but tests and plans are underway for such an upgrade. In fact, the worlds largest telecommunications companies have recently signed a manifesto pledging to make the next generation mobile network available in every country within the EU by 2020. How will the 5G network benefit us?
If you are already on the 4G network, you might think, what is the need to change to 5G? Well, there are a number of advantages which could come from 5G……
The main selling point of the 5G network in comparison to 4G will be speed. It’s going to be a lot quicker than the technology we currently have. By quite a way too!
Our partner Samsung have recently ran some tests and have actually claimed speeds of 7.5Gbps. For a wireless network connection, that is some feat.
If Gbps speeds go over the top of your head, in simple terms, your Netflix experience is going to become a lot better! No more waiting for the latest episode of Game of Thrones to buffer!
- With the introduction of 5G, your commute to work could also become a lot easier. The race toward 5G will be a key driver of driverless cars!
