Virtual desktop infrastructure, or VDI, refers to the process of running a user desktop inside a virtual machine that lives on a server in the data centre. Virtual desktop infrastructure is a powerful form of desktop virtualization as it enables fully personalised desktops for each user, with all the security and simplicity that comes with being centrally managed.

In order to run the hosted virtual desktop, you will need to download and install the free Citrix Receiver Software on the device(s) you wish to use, either before, or on your initial log on. This applies to both Windows based PCs, laptops, and android devices as well as Apple Macbooks and iPhone. This will then present each user with the logon screen to access the virtual desktop.
